The
Church of God Fellowship is a member-sponsored organization
formed by several former Global Church of God (GCG) members
who
were left without an organized group after the GCG corporation,
due to financial trouble, utilized a California legal procedure
called A.B.C. That action turned over control
of the assets of GCG to an appointed trustee, thus ending
GCGs control of that corporation.
The
Global Church of God, which sponsored "The World Ahead" program,
was formed by several former members of the Worldwide Church
of God (WCG) after the corporate leadership of the WCG began
introducing major doctrinal changes with which those founding
members of
Global could not, in good conscience toward God, accept. (WCG
and its predecessor, Radio Church of God, sponsored "The World
Tomorrow" for almost 60 years on radio and television.)
The
Church of God Fellowship recognizes that the Church of God is
a spiritual organism, not a physical corporation. Therefore,
the Church of God remains the same even though various members
have been forced by circumstances to form new corporate bodies
in order to satisfy the demands of governments in the different
nations where the spirit-led members of God's Church reside,
and to simplify serving the needs of those members.
Since
the Church of God Fellowship recognizes that God's people may
or may not be affiliated with various corporate bodies, yet be
part of God's Church, it welcomes any member who would like to
find fellowship with other members of the body of Christ, who
is in agreement with the doctrines,
practices and goals of the Church of God Fellowship.
The
goals of the Church of God Fellowship are to fulfill the purpose
of Christ's ministry as stated in EPH 4:11-13, and to share God's
truth with others as He grants us the ability to do so.
